What role do these ‘new kingpins’ play in the underworld?
On Tuesday, the police distributed photos of two men who are new to the National Investigation List. Fahd el Kandoussi (38) and Mohammed Kajdouh (46) would lead a criminal network that deals with global international cocaine trafficking. But, “the call is certainly also for Amsterdammers,” says Marijke Stor of the Amsterdam police.
Together with the arrested Amsterdam criminal Mounir K., El Kandoussi and Kajdouh are said to have smuggled thousands of kilos of drugs into the country. And that’s not the only thing. El Kandoussi was recently canceled to 12 years in prison because he ordered a shooting in Utrecht, which left one injured.
“We are talking about two men who are also suspected of many serious violent incidents, including kidnappings and shootings,” said Stor. “I think that says enough. Our call is therefore not to approach these men yourself if you recognize them.”
Lived in Amsterdam for a long time
The chance that you will run into one of the two here does not seem very high. El Kandoussi’s most recent residence is Morocco, it is likely that he is still there. The police assume that Kajdouh is hiding in Morocco or Dubai.
“But the call to share information is also definitely for Amsterdammers,” says Stor. “Because one of the two suspects (Kajdouh, ed.) has lived in Amsterdam for a long time. So it could well be that there are people who have more information about him.” Stor does not want to say whether the two are also guilty of criminal activities in Amsterdam in the interest of the investigation.

Not even back to the call itself. The police shared that race, including in Opsporing Verzoeken and gave a lot of personal information about the two. That while, at least for cocaine trafficking, they have not yet been closed or even prosecuted. “These are very serious criminal offenses that these two men are suspected of,” says Stor. “We therefore want to know where they are as soon as possible, we want to get as much information as possible about them and that is why they have been placed on the international wanted list.”
