nursing staff strike temporarily suspended
It is a movement that has been in reserve since Tuesday, January 3, with an interruption this weekend. The strike of nursing staff at the Dijon-Bourgogne Private Hospital (HPDB), in Valmy, has however just been suspended, after the progress of negotiations between the employees and their management.
“This situation remains fragile”
At least that’s what Emilie Cruz, Force Ouvrière HPDB union delegate, said in a press release. “Management has accepted a gratuity and priority overtime for permanent employees as well as the granting of a packed lunch for employees who cannot leave their workstation during the day,” she informs.
“As for the other proposals, they were declined. Our leaders remain on the same positions with regard to the material means already proposed. If the whole therefore remains quite far from the initial demands of the staff, this is still enough to suspend this strike movement which has been going on for eight days now, at least temporarily. “As a result, we are suspending the strike until further notice, but this situation remains fragile”, resumes Émilie Cruz. Before concluding: “I would not sign any end-of-strike agreement in the sense that some of the proposals are not in line with our demands. Now, to prevent the employees from going on strike, the working conditions and the demands of the employees must be really heard and the proposals applied”.
