Erasmus provocation: Brussels launched another attack on Hungary
The Brussels elite, embroiled in an unprecedented corruption scandal, launched another attack on Hungary. Without any real legal basis, the European Commission is preparing to suspend the support of the Erasmus program in the case of higher education institutions operating in the form of foundations. The main thing is that Brussels wants to give the money of the Hungarians to the Ukrainians, to see if they can give it, they are still trying to divert attention from the serious corruption scandal that broke out at the end of last year, writes the Origin.
The committee had previously made two demands against the government
Brussels has recently admitted what it has denied for years, that it is withholding funds because the Hungarian government does not allow aggressive LGBTQ propaganda into kindergartens and schools. On the other hand, Hungary still does not dismantle the fence protecting the border and does not allow hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants into the country.
“I am very confident that the European Commission does not want the Hungarian students to pay the costs of its possible dispute with the Hungarian government”
– this is what Tibor Navracsics, the minister responsible for the use of EU funds, tells Hír TV. The European Commission previously made two demands against the government. One of them was that the procurements of public interest foundations also fall under the scope of the public procurement procedure, he added.
The other, please, said that the government should develop a strict set of conflict of interest regulations. Tibor Navracsics sees that the cabinet has fulfilled both, and moreover, according to him, during the negotiations it never came up that the European Commission would object to active political participation in the board of trustees of public interest foundations.
The Erasmus+ programs will be implemented this year as well
And Balázs Hankó, the state secretary responsible for higher education, says that currently and in 2023, the higher education student and teacher exchange programs applied for by universities are not affected by the European Commission’s decision at the end of last year, which means that the Erasmus+ programs will be implemented this year as well. The government is continuously negotiating until the March deadline on the further uninterrupted provision of funds for higher education, he stressed.
Regarding the latest attack in Brussels, Tamás Fricz said that this decision is also outrageous because education and culture, as well as its institutional organization, are the competence of its members.
According to the analyst of the Center for Fundamental Rights, this decision goes against the basic agreements, and moreover, it was made under the cover of night.
According to Tamás Fricz, this decision affected 22,000 young people. The specialist drew attention to the fact that the union’s foundation coratoriums have no right to say anything.
According to Zoltán Lomnici Jr., Századvég’s legal expert, the committee’s objection is reminiscent of the film Dissent, when even thinking is punished. The expert also reminded me how the European Commission would react if the government did not provide a single HUF to the law faculty of ELTE, since Zoltán Fleck, who encouraged open rebellion, could always teach there.
Zoltán Lomnici Jr. called the commission’s procedure a mafia method
Zoltán Lomnici Jr. called the committee’s procedure a mafia method, and asked the question, would the Erasmus program be suspended even if left-wing politicians were sitting on the relevant boards of trustees?
The current decision of the committee is also ridiculous from the point of view that the chairman of the committee has not yet clarified the circumstances of the acquisition of vaccines against the coronavirus. Ursula von der Leyen held preliminary talks with Pfizer boss Albert Bourla as early as March 2021. It was also revealed that discussions about vaccine purchases were often carried out via SMS. However, these text messages mysteriously disappear from the European Commission’s phone – at least it refuses to release them, the portal explains.
Following Von der Leyen’s telephone discussions, the committee also agreed on the delivery of 1.8 billion doses of the coronavirus vaccine produced by BioNTech/Pfizer.
The President of the European Court of Justice concluded a deal worth 35 billion euros without knowing anything about this public opinion, and the negotiations took place in messages sent over the phone or even face to face.
Further concerns are caused by the fact that Ursula von der Leyen’s husband, Heiko von der Leyen, has been the medical director of Orgenesis, an American biopharmaceutical company specializing in cell and gene therapy, since December 2020, which has close ties to the Pfizer/Biontech companies, including messenger RNA development of genetic therapies based on
It is also suspicious that the revenues of a company called Orgenesis started to jump when Heiko von der Leyen unexpectedly became medical director in December 2020. After that, not only the number of orders started to increase, but the EU and the respective member states’ funds came in abundance.
Origo writes that the suspected corruption machinations in Brussels also show that it is easier to divert attention with a move attacking Hungary than to provide a real explanation for the suspicious deals in Brussels on the part of those involved.
The situation unfolding in connection with the Erasmus program clearly shows that the Brussels elite, drowning in corruption, do everything to punish Hungary and to cover up their own responsibility.
