Busy around Olayinka. He left with Slavia, but he might leave already in the winter
It was busy around Olayinka on Tuesday. For a while, it seemed that he would not even travel to Portugal with Slavia. Among the only ones who gathered at the airport after lunch, he was absent at first – until an hour before departure, he got out of the car in a green cap and joined the team. The question is for how long.
“A lot has been written about Peter now, but he is flying with us and we remain a member of the squad,” assured Jaroslav Köstl, assistant coach to Jindřich Trpišovský. “But at the level of the clubs, there are negotiations about his early departure – not until the end of the contract, but already in the winter.”

Olayink’s departure was imminent once again. Teams from abroad were interested in him for a long time, but the transfer never clicked. The closest was a move to Copenhagen in the summer of 2021, where he traveled, but did not pass the medical examination.
However, the planned move to Belgrade surprised him. With Olayinka’s contract expiring in the summer, he would leave for free, which irritated Slavista fans. The head of the club, Jaroslav Tvrdík, on the other hand, defended the Nigerian, who has been working in the club for the fifth season and helped with five goals in the league in the fall.
“I am ashamed of what you are able to write about one of the legendary players of Slavia today. He fulfilled his contract. He was part of a beautiful era. Icon. He has the right to choose his next club and employer according to his will. And we can only applaud and thank you. Thanks, Oli,” wrote Tvrdík on Twitter.
Now it looks like Olayinka might not have to leave without a replacement. An immediate departure would make sense for all parties: Slavia would get paid, the player would have peace of mind, and Crvena zvezda would not have to worry if Olayinka is not injured for the rest of the season.
Slavia, the player and his agent are in favor, now the decision of the Serbian club is awaited.
In addition to Olayinka, youngsters Daniel Šmiga and Denis Halinský were included in the squad for the training camp, where Slavia will spend thirteen days, only long-term marauder David Hovorka remained at home.
“The entire squad is flying out, including Taras Kačaraba, who will start training during the training camp. The same applies to David Pech, who was injured during the preparatory match with Hradec Králové,” explained Köstl. “We will have good conditions in Portugal to hasten their recovery.”
