At the Černý Most terminal, screens, benches have been added and the lighting has been replaced
Filip Drápal, spokesman for the Ropid organization, which plans Prague public transport, told ČTK today. The current repairs are part of the overall planned reconstruction of the neglected station. Černý Most is the most important terminal in the east of Prague, the metro has its terminus there and city, suburban and long-distance buses stop there.
“There are 12 new electronic information tables that show the current departures of the nearest connections from individual platforms for quick orientation of passengers, and for an overall overview, there are also two large-scale summary information panels showing both city and regional bus lines,” said Drápal.
New benches and trash cans were placed there, and the railings and roofing of the access roads received a new coat of paint or a general cleaning. The lighting of the individual platforms and arrival gangways was completely replaced. “We plan to install a new static navigation system here this year. More regular cleaning is also ensured,” Drápal added.
Ropid, together with the Technical Administration of Communications (TSK), completed the repair of access bridges and structures around the metro station. The platforms were adjusted and their drainage was repaired, as it was the leaking water that was causing the biggest problems for the structure.
The Černý Most terminal is the most important transport hub in the eastern part of Prague, where metro line B starts. 12 city and 15 suburban bus lines and 32 long-distance buses, mainly to the eastern and northern parts of the Czech Republic, depart from here. 30,000 passengers pass through the terminal daily. Opposite the terminal is the P+R parking lot.
