A petition was created for the preservation of the Vtoská bridge, signed by six thousand people
First railways (S) presented a project to the ace, according to which only the bottom layer of the bridge can be preserved and the current concrete structure must be replaced by a new one.
The preservation of the current form of the bridge is also advocated by the serving mayor of Prague Adam Scheinherr (Prague Sob) and led by Prague 5. Issued with TK incl.
According to the member of the Petina Committee and the chairman of the Club for Old Prague, Richard Biegel, the current form of the bridge is historically and technically valuable.
It’s not about complicating rail transport, it’s really about the bridge being a cultural monument from 2018, he said today. He added that no one doubts that old monuments should be protected.
According to Biegel, members of Peta’s committee discussed her with the Minister of Transportation Martin Kupka by the Ministry of Culture Martin Baxa (both ODS). The Minister of Transport told us that he would initiate something like a technological colloquium to assess the condition of the bridge, he said.
According to him, Baxa then told the petitioner that in order to be able to remove the building structure from the point of view of monument protection, it is necessary to prove its irreparability.
In the center, the petitioners are going to discuss this issue with the senators elected in the broken districts in Sent.
The fate of the bridge has been discussed in the metropolis for a long time. Scheinherr also promotes the preservation of the current form in the long term. In the past, he had a study drawn up at the Prague City Hall, on which Eugen Brhwiler, a bridge engineer from Vácar and an expert in precast construction, collaborated, and according to which the repair is possible. esk Kloknerv state BUT, on the other hand, recommended replacing two with the new one.
With the next step, she called an architectural meeting, the results of which she announced in November 2022. The proposal from the 2T engineering studio was taken into account, with the removal of the monument protective structure, its replacement by a new one and the addition of a new dormitory. A new train stop is to be built at Vtoni.
According to the plan S, the construction should start in 2026 and last 20 months, the original construction should at least be used elsewhere.
The capital city is also asking for this college, as an element of the railway transport capacity. Scheinherr, however, repeated in a letter to the councilors of Prague 5 that, in view of the study carried out, he still considers it possible and appropriate to repair the bridge, i.e. to completely replace only the bridge deck and replace only some of the remaining elements of the supporting structure.
From the point of view of transport, a new monorail bridge and a new railway stop should then be added, wrote the serving deputy mayor.
The council of Prague 5 bowed to his vision last week, which supported its resolution in the form of the reconstruction of the bridge and the addition of a new college.
The railway bridge on the Vtona was opened in its original form on August 15, 1872. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, it was replaced by a bridge that still spans the Vltava River.
The current bridge consists of three spans with a span of 69.9 meters, a width of 8.1 meters and a length of 298.4 meters. According to the monuments, the structure is an important technical cultural monument in the Prask Monuments Reserve.
