How many births, marriages and deaths in Monaco in 2022? The Principality’s Civil Registry comes to take stock of life in our neighbours.
Thus, each act of Monegasque persons or persons of foreign nationality born, married or
died in the Principality in 2022, was, as every year, recorded in the registers.
Ten more weddings in 2022 compared to 2021.
8 marriages united two persons of Monegasque nationality;
46 Monegasque men married a woman of foreign nationality;
34 Monegasque women have chosen a foreign husband.
In the statistics for the year 2022, we note that the number of births in 2022 is 862, which is less than the year 2021 (976).
435 boys and 427 girls to be precise.
Of these births, 861 took place at the Maternity Unit of the Center Hospitalier Princesse
Grace (CHPG) and 1 birth took place at home. 423 births are from unions
marriages (known as “legitimate”) and 439 children were born out of wedlock.
Regarding the place of residence, 237 families were domiciled in Monacowhile the
625 other births concerned parents domiciled outside the Principality –
mostly in the Communes of Menton (212), Roquebrune-Cap-Martin (75) and
Beausoleil (94).
Finally, the top 5 of the most attributed first names in 2022 positions Emma, Victoria,
Alice, Chloé and Stella for the girls and Leonardo, Gabriel, Raphaël, Aaron and Louis for the
boys.
Fewer deaths
Over 80% of deaths occurred in hospital (81%) or clinics (8%). Among the people
deceased, 280 were domiciled in Monaco and 248 in neighboring municipalities.
270 men and 258 women died.
