Analysis of the press conference of Rosicky and Priske
A press conference was held at Letná to start the second block of winter training of Sparta’s A-team. The conference moderated by Ondřej Kasík was attended by sports director Tomáš Rosický and head coach of the A-team Brian Priske.
Tomáš Rosický started by saying that the club is satisfied with the fact that they added reinforcements before the start of the training camp, which was his goal. The coach added that when he arrived, he did not expect that the rebuilding of the team would be so extensive. The current status of the squad is the result of many ongoing analyzes within the club. In any case, the plan remains to have the skeleton of the team Czech, and both foreign and Czech players are being watched.
According to Brian Priske, the team has come a long way since the start of the season, and the last eight games of the fall season are proof of that. However, for further progress, the team needed to move on. The new reinforcements have experience from other countries and international football. It was also supposed to enrich and bring a new impulse from the European cups. Priske hopes that the new players adapt quickly, but a possible acclimatization period must be taken into account. Tomáš Rosický added that that’s why they made reinforcements now, already with a view to the summer. The coach stated that the team is now hungry and should continue to improve in the spring, aiming to get more points than the teams above us in the table. Sparta currently loses seven points to the first Pilsen.
The arrival of the new assistant Lars Friis was made easier by the fact that he not only knows Prisk from before, but is the main analyst and fitness coach of Sparta.
In conclusion, Rosický added that it is important for him that the B team stays in the 2nd league. Pudhorocký’s departure was due to the fact that he already needed to play in the 1st league for his development, and Sparta has a lot of competition for his position (which will increase by one more player in the summer). However, Sparta has an agreed buyback right for Pudhorocké.
Feelings directly from the event from a representative of the newspaper @acsfratello
When speaking with Tomáš Rosicky and Brian Prisk, it is immediately apparent to the listeners that there is a strong mutual agreement and trust in their joint work between these two, in the answers of both of them the emphasis is clearly placed on the fact that the consensus is the result of many hours of joint discussions lost through analysis. Both interviewees speak mostly in the plural, and when one of them answers in Czech and the other in English, the combination of their answers seems coherent and unified.
At 2:30 p.m., the press conference to start the January block of Sparta A-team’s winter training begins, and Spartťanská Noviny will not be absent.

However, it is not only the agreement that we can observe between them. The somewhat cold and pensive Rosicky is in contrast to the light-hearted and open Priske. This is probably due to the different experiences in Sparta. The sports director’s behavior seemed to reflect the club’s unsuccessful period in recent years, with apparently frequent criticism of his person. While the coach, unencumbered by the past and what is written about him, shows off his charisma and energy. In addition, this combination brings between Priske’s comprehensive speeches, which do not make the job easy for Ondřej Kasík, who is in charge of the translation, and Tomáš Rosický’s sometimes slightly evasive reactions.
An ideal example is the sports director’s answer to the question of keeping the B-team, which in the 2nd case is on the relegation rungs and will be weakened by the departure of several key players by the spring. Rosický masterfully turned the question on the sports development of Petr Pudhorocký, added the information that Sparta can buy her back from Hradec and hinted at the summer arrival of Michal Ševčík from Brno. And no one even remembered the critical situation of the B-team.
So there must be satisfaction with the press conference at Letná. The club oozes strength and unity, and one left with the feeling that the pressure from the outside has been somewhat eased, at least for the time being, thanks to a fresh start with the Danish coach.
Vojta’s opinion He blinkedwho watched the press conference in retrospect
From my point of view, a particularly interesting moment on the press was the comprehensive answer to the question regarding the description of winter reinforcements. Ondřej Kasík received applause for his answer in this case, because it was an extremely demanding and long translation. Despite the fact that I managed to convey the most important body of the coach’s monologue excellently, a few pieces remained for my more in-depth analysis.
For example, when describing the abilities of Australia’s Awer Mabila, the press officer mentioned the fact that he was a player who could pass for goals and score goals. However, Sparta’s coach literally mentioned that he is Awer Mabil help player, while he only mentioned the ability to score goals afterwards. But a small detail describes the fact that Mabil is a creative player, which is crucial for his future in the team.
🇦🇺Awer Mabil comes on loan from the Spanish LaLiga, specifically from Cádiz. After the end of the engagement, Sparta can exercise the option 👀@awermabil17 we wish you good luck 💙💛❤️#transfers pic.twitter.com/tqjbchI0RN

Regarding Qazim Laci, Příske half-said something about the fact that the player tends to move on the left side of the field and that he has an excellent engine, that is, he is very agile. This element was completely omitted by Kasík, although it is very important information from a tactical point of view. For example, if they played a 4-3-3, Laci will probably move to the left of the defensive midfielder, which is also suitable due to the fact that both Daňko, Sadílek and Karabec are doing better.

Other details in the description of the players are Priske’s mentions of both midfielders regarding their ability to play low. With Laci, the double six is mentioned before the eight (or double pivot with low-playing midfielders), with Kairinen as the first six and then also the eight. Again, these are details that indicate that the players will probably start under Sadílek, which is very important given the low competition for these positions in the fall.
In addition to these snippets, I also noticed some continuity with the summer press conference where the coach continues to avoid talk of the title. Continuity is also in emphasizing the importance of competition in the squad, which is now becoming really noticeable. Especially in attacking positions.
I would also like to mention foreign facts emphasizing that some reinforcements explicitly wanted from. Players from abroad bring a new perspective to football at the cultivation level, but in addition to that, it probably also needs some skills, we are still not in the area of high in the Czech Republic. After all, the newly arrived players are, according to the currently available descriptions, very specific and atypical for our league.
💥 Another reinforcement for Sparta is Dimitrije Kamenović.
🇷🇸 The Serbian defender can play the position of left back or stopper. In the current work in Lazio, Italy, where he did not succeed.
Good luck! 💙💛❤️ pic.twitter.com/y9soWitd8J

According to Priske, Laci is a playmaker who likes to caress the ball, Kamenovič should bring a beneficial combination of power play and an excellent left-hander, Mabil is extremely fast, capable in 1v1 and can play on both sides, and I already wrote about Kairinen’s ability to create from lower areas in article.
As a colleague already said, Tomáš Rosický avoided an interesting question regarding the strengthening of the B team, in this regard we will have to wait for the events in the coming weeks. The first match of the B team is not scheduled until March. Likewise, the question regarding the resolution of expiring contracts was partially covered. At the same time, Rosa reassured the Spartans by saying that everything was under control and that some players would leave.
However, this fact can create an interesting backdrop for what is probably the most positive outcome of the entire conference, regarding the building of the staff for the future. Although reinforcements can be acquired with regard to the next season, two of them are on loan, which can complicate long-term planning. Ending players in the club, the solution of new contracts and the need to save the B team, together with visiting footballers, not only inside, but also outside the team, can create a proper stew in Sparta with the management of the wider staff. But that’s what leading a team that wants to aim for the top is all about.
