Captain announces surprising career end
Eintracht Frankfurt captain Sebastian Rode has announced the end of his career. After the next season it should be over.

Sebastian Rode planned in an interview with the picture his career end in 2024. “I’m currently assuming that that’s probably the end of it,” said Rode. His goal is to simply live for the day – that was usually not possible in his professional career. He is also looking forward to the free time he will have after retirement and the time with his children, as he said.
However, the Eintracht Frankfurt captain does not rule out that he will hang up his boots before the end of the 2023/24 season. “You’ll see how it works in the second half of the season. Sebastian Rode moved from Kickers Offenbach to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2010. After strong performances, FC Bayern Munich secured the midfielder’s services in 2014 on a free transfer. In Munich he became German champion in 2014/15 and even won the double a year later. In 2016 he moved on to Borussia Dortmund, where he also celebrated victory in the DFB Cup. Due to many surprises, however, he was unable to assert himself either on Säbener Straße or at BVB and will return to SGE in 2019. He then won the Europa League in Seville with the Eagles in 2021/22.
