the elected right-wing respondents to the departure of the deputy mayor of Lyon
After new revelations around the state and the lease of the apartment rented by Sandrine Runel, assistant to Grégory Doucet the mayor of Lyon, to a resident, the right-wing elected officials are asking for her departure.
After revelations from the newspaper progress Friday January 6 around legal deficiencies in the lease concluded between Sandrine Runel, deputy mayor of Lyon in charge of Solidarity, and the tenant of an apartment which belongs to her in the Guillotière district, the right-wing opposition elected officials intimating the environmentalist majority to react.
The mayor Les Républicains of the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon, Pierre Oliver, criticizes the fact that there was no mention of the amount of the rent on the lease, while the mayor of Lyon Grégory Doucet made rent controls a key measure at the start of his mandate.
“It is difficult to give lessons to the people of Lyon on unworthy housing, on the control of rents and not to apply what is asked of others”a writing by Pierre Oliver on his Twitter account.
In a press release, published Friday, January 6, the group of the right and the center directly challenged the ecological mayor of Lyon.
“How can an elected official who is not stingy with moralizing lessons and who, for example, declares to the Métropole de Lyon, on April 26, 2021 that our “responsibility is to guarantee decent living conditions” act like this?, denounces the right-wing elected officials. The opposition group also calls for Sandrine Runel to leave, wondering how to comment on Grégory Doucet “can, therefore, maintain his confidence in him by continuing to grant him a deputy delegation”.
In response to a first article from Lyon Magwho described the apartment rented by Sandrine Runel as a “slum”, the assistant in charge of Solidarity published a right of reply in the local magazine.
“The apartment has been rented out for several years (2010), the occupants liked it and all stayed there for several years. I chose not to go through the agency to rent it directly to young students, young working people who do not benefit from the rental conditions in force. I myself lived in it for several years (…) It is 38m2 and is located in a small condominium in the heart of La Guillotière Substantial work was carried out in 2021 and April 2022, such as the renovation of the bathroom, the change of radiators and other interventions in the kitchen or the toilets”declares in particular Sandrine Runel, who also explains that she called craftsmen on several occasions to solve a problem of mice entering the accommodation.
The assistant in charge of Solidarity, whom we joined, did not react to the reaction of the right-wing elected representatives concerning this affair. Regarding the apartment, she says she has nothing more to add than what she wrote in her right of reply.
