Life in Tashkent, coming to Greece and the sport that marked it
The “revelation” of the season, Marisa Triantafyllidou spoke about her life in Tashkent, her arrival in Greece, but also about the accident in the theater that marked her.
The favorite actor was invited to the ERT show “Studio 4“, giving a very interesting interview.
“In the Soviet Union we were called Greeks and in Greece Russian. When I came to Athens I was excited by its light. It’s a gift I’ve inherited from my family, I feel very fulfilled with what I have. Every year for me is a good year, I got something».
The accident that marked her
“I fell from a great height during rehearsal. I went up to try something and fell 4 meters. My first lumbar disintegrated, went into my paralyzed spinal cord. I was stuck for two months. I had set a goal to walk without feeling my legs. We made it with my brother as our main ally The doctors said I shouldn’t get up yet. I visualize the movement so very quickly I walked without feeling.
We are many people who have the pain time syndrome.
I am in pain 24/7. That’s how it will go but I’m told I’m one of the luckiest people. I don’t think about what I could get or what I was spared but how I will be able to cooperate with it.
I recently went through a period of mourning. When the accident happened to me I had been functioning for many years in denial. 5 years ago I started to struggle a lot psychologically. Because I thought I would be like before. I made a huge acceptance and slowly started to enjoy living with it.
For my girls it was very difficult, mentally demanding for them and for me. Since we were together all the time I saw them 2 times a week and I couldn’t hug them. We are very proud of the girls that we experienced this,” she said of her now adult daughters.
“What saves me is my childhood enthusiasm» he added.
As she even explained, after the accident she did not play again in the theater due to the fact that the injury has brought her mobility problems.
“Any visible or invisible disability is nice to feel like it’s a part of a body that continues to function» he said very aptly.
