This project, funded by the Pas-de-Calais department (€175,000/year), enables job seekers to acquire skills in a “learning” store for the loan and donation of clothing and accessories.
Established since 2021 in Calais Cœur de Vie, the store moved to the Carrefour Mvoix gallery in October and was shut down last December.
A logical move according to Ezedine Kara, the president of La Fabrique Défi.
Nothing is for sale, the sellers and customers are job seekers followed within the framework of a support system. They can get outfits to work, do an internship or go to an interview.
Lysiane, 53, joined the Défi pro, one of the schemes of La Fabrique Défi.
Kim 26 years old also appreciates this shop.
Customers and sellers are all looking for a job and help each other according to Hervé Queugnet, manager of the store.
This shop has enabled around fifty people out of the sixty supported last year to find a job or training. Ezedine Kara, the president of La Fabrique Défi.
Comments collected at the microphone RADIO 6 by Priscilla Vandeville. 90% of learners in the store are women followed by La Fabrique Défi or submitted by partner organizations.
The shop is constantly looking for clothes in small and large sizes, blouses, pants, clean and neat outfits for work. Don’t hesitate to drop off clothes in good condition that you no longer wear.
