Harz specialty served in Hanover – the reason is not to celebrate
Many prefer to give a wide berth – for others it is a spicy delicacy! Whatever you think of Harzer Käse: In Hanover it is now served more as a stinker than as a treat for the palate.
You can find out here what is behind the strange action in the state capital – and what role the Harz specialty plays in it.

To justify Gleitze, the citizens’ income hardly goes beyond the old Hartz IV benefits. The increase in transfer payments from 449 to 502 euros per month is far too low. “It is not an improvement in living standards, it does not cover the inflation of food bonds, the area that is existential for recipients of the basic income.” The basic income does not prevent poverty, it exposes people to stress and reduces their chances in the Job search and integration.
Harz cheese as a statement
In addition, Gleitze criticized the fact that an originally planned six-month period of trust, during which benefit recipients fear sanctions even if conditions are violated, was not included in the concept. Another shortcoming is the shortening of the period in which the offices assume the costs of the apartment without an audit, from probably two years to one year.
Also exciting:
Among other things, Gleitze is demanding an immediate increase in the standard rates of citizen income by 200 euros, a sanctions moratorium of one year, and a mobility ticket for nine euros a month. (epd)
