Every year again: This is how the Christmas tree disposal works in Frankfurt in 2023
As is the case every year, in the time after Christmas, many Frankfurters are faced with the question: where to put the Christmas tree? Don’t worry, because the Frankfurter Entsorgungs- und Service GmbH (FES) is again offering you two disposal options this year.
Version 1: As before, the Christmas tree can be disposed of in the brown organic waste bin, the gray residual waste bin or with the help of the street cleaners during January. The prerequisite is that the trees have been stripped of all ornaments and cut to lengths of one meter.
Variant 2: The well-established collection tour offered for the eighth time with fixed dates in districts. A special vehicle will be used between Monday, January 9th and Friday, January 27th, which will only collect Christmas trees. Citizens simply leave the trees ready at the property boundary on the day of collection. It is important that the tree is clearly visible and at the same time easy to reach with the collection vehicle. Here, too, the trees should be decorated and shortened to pieces no longer than one meter.

The border between Sachsenhausen south and north runs along the Offenbacher and Mörfelder Landstrasse. On the Mörfelder Landstraße, even house numbers belong to Sachsenhausen-Nord, odd house numbers to Sachsenhausen-Süd. The following applies to Offenbacher Landstraße: even house numbers to Sachsenhausen-Süd, odd house numbers to Sachsenhausen-Nord.
There are no separate dates in the station district, in the old town and in the city center because the street cleaners work there every day and take away the Christmas trees.
Of course, Christmas trees can also be handed in free of charge to the RMB Rhein-Main Biokompost in Osthafen or to the trunk service at the FES recycling depots.
