Dijon. LiNo, TGV Dijon – Lille, Crous, City of gastronomy: the quotes to remember from the wishes of the mayor, François Rebsamen
“Finally we are all together! After two years of cancellation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the vows ceremony of the mayor of Dijon, François Rebsamen, was back this Friday, January 6. The event took place at the Zénith de Dijon in front of more than 2,800 people.
Alongside his first deputy Nathalie Koenders – the only elected official to be named at the start of the speech – François Rebsamen wanted it to be that of “the link and the Togetherness”, a last word he said to around ten year resumes during his 50-minute speech. Here are the quotes that caught our attention.
1. Restoration of the Dijon-Lille TGV line: “I have an appointment in the coming days with the president of the SNCF and tomorrow with the Minister of Transport”
As we know, François Rebsamen wants the TGV line which connects Dijon to Lille to be restored, via Montbard, Marne la Vallée and Roissy-Charles-De-Gaulle airport. He has also launched an online petition to support his cause, which indicated “16,500 signatures”, according to the latest figures announced Friday evening.
François Rebsamen invited his guests present to applaud the approach “to show their determination” in this case. And to add, addressing the President of the Bourgogne Franche Comté Region, Marie-Guite Dufay: “I would not like the capital of this beautiful region to be the only one in France today – I mean the only of France – not to be connected directly to an international airport…”
François Rebsamen has also announced that he has an appointment in the coming days with the president of the SNCF and this Saturday, at 6:30 p.m., with the Minister of Transport, Clément Beaune, to discuss the restoration of the Dijon TGV line. – Lille.
2. Crous: “What we have in Dijon struck me deeply”
A few days ago, we told you that Dijon Métropole was going to commission a design office which will have to make a complete inventory of the university catering offer and the demand on the territory. A decision that follows a situation that has been difficult to maintain for many months.
“At this moment, I would like to raise a problem which is very close to my heart, and which concerns the Crous. Dijon needs all the support of the Region for its students. In terms of school catering, in terms of social services, what we have in Dijon strikes me deeply when I see the files of students who are waiting without being able to access the restaurant university. 40,000 students and only 2 university restaurants, this situation on the Crous seems unworthy to me and I am counting on the Region (on you Madam President) to deal with our Metropolis on this! »
3. City of gastronomy: “I’m not saying that everything is perfect”
The year 2022 was marked, in May, by the opening of the International City of Gastronomy and Wine in Dijon. The culmination of a long-term project – 10 years – which, according to the mayor, should reach 500,000 visitors within a few days: “And this despite the fact that the cinema, until then, has not not play the role we had hoped for,” said François Rebsamen.
“This should change, and I thank the CEO of Pathé, following our interview, for agreeing to correct the shooting on the price of the premises as I asked him. I’m not saying that everything is perfect, there will still be improvements to be made. But this City has indeed become an essential destination, a new emblem of our regional capital. »
4. Ahuy roundabout on the Lino: “Work will start on January 16”
The Ahuy roundabout on the North-West Intermunicipal Link, known as Lino, is one of the most important traffic black spots in the Dijon conurbation. Traffic jams form daily at peak times around this facility.
Announced in January 2021, and postponed several times, development work will finally be launched in an attempt to improve traffic flow. “I have just learned that they will start on January 16,” said François Rebsamen in his speech.
The operation will allow the creation of exit and entrance ramps, upstream and downstream of the roundabout, in an attempt to decongest the expressway. Its cost is 3.3 M€, a sum financed by the State, the Department, the Region and the Metropolis.
