Coach Veselý on Bohemians’ preparation: Květ with Hronek can motivate others, the new assistant is a reinforcement
About an easy win. “It was a match that replaced the training unit, which is why we chose the 2×50 minute format. Thank you Dukla for accommodating us. We wanted a technical opponent from a lower competition, who would not completely soap it up at this stage of preparation. I was not very happy with the first half: Dukla played very well when I had heavier legs. I would have expected us to have more quality, we had an unnecessary loss. The second half was better and we finished the first block of training well.”
About winter departures of supports. “Key players left us in terms of team hierarchy and productivity, Roman Květ and Petr Hronek scored a total of eleven league goals in the fall and assisted on another. I’m curious myself how we’ll deal with it. We heard that there is interest in striker David Puskáč, but he has a valid contract with us. Football is a supply and demand business and I am prepared to lose any player. I believe that David will stay with us and that the story of Květa with Hronek is motivating not only for him. That even from Bohemka it is possible to get into top clubs.”
About the arrival of interesting names. “Honza Matoušek played against the Dukla halfback, which reflects my fondness for variability. It’s one of the positions we count on him for. Aleš Čermák also started well, with goalkeeper Martin Jedlička they are rightly hungry. You can see how much I want to prove that I still belong to the elite. Aleš plays with great gusto in a large area and doesn’t spare a step, so far I’m satisfied with him.”
About the new assistant Bartko. “The collaboration with David is shaping up to be great, it’s a big boost for me. I expected him to adapt a little longer as a newly graduated player. On the other hand, he has a long experience with youth. I’m surprised how much respect he has in the team, the players take him. Although Barťas looks calm, he can raise his voice. There is no hierarchy between our assistants, we have well-adjusted mutual communication. Everyone can have their say, but definitely only one can have a say.” (smiles)
About Captain Jindřišek and the concentration. “Pepa had an otitis media, took antibiotics and was quiet at home. He is catching up with individual volumes that others have already passed, and he will only get involved in game things in Turkey. On Tuesday, we will go there in the number of 23 players in the field plus three goalkeepers. Midfielder Beran, who is after an operation and can start in a month or two, will not go. And other moves in the squad? I don’t rule out that after training, we will reduce the team by two players.”
