7th edition of the cassoulet world championship in Toulouse
The cassoulet world championship is back for a new edition in Toulouse. The jury will be interpreted by chef Michel Sarran. The general public will be able to do a blind tasting for the public price.
Cassoulet is an essential dish in the Pink City. It is a flagship dish of local gastronomy. So much so that the world cassoulet championship is held in Toulouse. The seventh edition of this competition launched by the association of the Knights of the gall, the humor club of Toulousewill take place on Monday January 23 at the Rex.
The jury of the cassoulet world championship in Toulouse
This new edition of the cassoulet world championship will be entitled to an exceptional jury. Michelin-starred chef Michel Sarran will be its honorary president. He will be accompanied by the Knights of the field, formed by the duo Francis Ginibre and Éric Carrière. With them will be Jean-Nicolas Baylet, the general manager of La Dépêche du Midi, as well as Gérard Garcia, master charcutier of Maison Garcia, not forgetting the two winners of last year, Céline Taffarello and Philippe Jeansing of the restaurant l ‘Public weight inn. Two surprise jurors are also expected.
Blind tasting for the public
The general public, gourmets and lovers of gastronomy, will also have their say during the world cassoulet championship in Toulouse. In effect, the five professionals in the running for the grand finale of January 23 will have to taste their dish, blind, to a hundred people who will designate the price of the public.
