2022, the year with the most electric charges in Portugal
OElectric vehicle charges on the Mobi.E network increased by 80% in 2022, compared to the previous year, totaling 2.49 million and with the month of December surpassing, for the first time, 250,000 continuous charges, was announced today.
The Management Entity of the Electric Mobility Network reported, in a statement, that, “in accumulated terms, there were more than 2 million and 490 thousand recharges on the Mobi.E network, which represented an increase of 80% compared to the year previous”.
“The year 2022 was the best ever for electric mobility in Portugal, with the Mobi network.
Energy consumption increased by 110% in 2022, to a total of 36,650 megawatt-hours, while the number of users also increased by 77% compared to 2021, with more than 105,000 drivers using one of the stations on the network at least once .
Last year, the Mobi.E network extended public access to the country’s 308 municipalities, with more than 3,100 public access points existing on December 31, which means an increase of around 50% compared to 2021, corresponding to more than 5,600 charging points.
In 2022, “there was also a strong adherence to the Mobi.E network of charging stations in private access spaces, which increased by more than 3.5 times throughout the year, well demonstrating the virtualities of the figure of Charging Point Holders (DPC) foreseen in the Mobi.E model and which is only now beginning to arouse the interest of both consumers and Charging Point Operators”, added an entity.
According to Mobi.E, the values registered in 2022 saved the emission of 28,830 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2), a saving 113% higher than the previous year.
