Gabrielsen ready for LSK comeback – has medal ambitions
The transition confirmed by LSK Thursday.
Gabrielsen last played for the Canaries from 2008 to 2014. He then moved to Molde before becoming a foreign professional in Toulouse, France.
– It will be special (putting on the LSK uniform again). I have been to Åråsen and know the feeling. So now it was time, says Gabrielsen.
He has been playing for the Major League Soccer club Austin FC since last January. He also has a loan spell at FC Copenhagen behind him. It dates from the period in Toulouse.
– I want to do what I have not done for this club, but with all other clubs – to win a medal. I did it in Molde, Toulouse, Copenhagen and Austin. So it’s the medal I need here. It is what I owe the most and feel the most about. It is time for me to do something sensible here too, he says.
For the record: Gabrielsen has two elite series titles with Molde and a super league title with FCK. He moved up to Ligue 1 with Toulouse in 2022, and with Austin he reached the semi-finals of the MLS playoffs. In the latter club he also has the Texas tournament Copa Tejas.
It has also been reported that Molde has been interested in bringing Gabrielsen back to the club’s final season. However, the protagonist must have a desire to return to LSK.
