A nice sum reinjected for the winter transfer window?
Monegasque defender Benoît Badiashile should indeed pack his bags and leave the principality this winter. According to the latest information from Fabrizio Romano, his transfer to Chelsea is imminent. An early start which will allow Monaco to be able to concentrate on its winter transfer window, in the direction of arrivals.
The information fell on Thursday. According to the Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Benoît Badiashile will engage with Chelsea: a deal that is sealed.
All the documents have been signed and the French defender will be removed a Blues in the next few hours. AS Monaco will receive €38m as part of the transfer.
Signing his first professional contract with Monaco in 2016, the native of Limoges played 137 matches in all competitions. The young central defender accustomed to the Espoirs team was even able to make his debut in the France team. Selected for the first time in September 2022, he took part in all of the two matches between France and Austria and Denmark in the Nations League.
His qualities and his potential have not gone through the previews and the player has logically been interested in many European leaders for several months. His imminent departure to Chelsea therefore comes as a logical continuation.
A nice sum to reinvest?
By selling its young player for €38m, Monaco is starting its transfer window with a nice amount, which the club could reinvest from January. A transfer window which has for the moment started only in the direction of the departures, with the German goalkeeper Alexander Nübel who could also leave Monaco to find his former club Bayern Munich, who wishes to compensate for the long package of Manuel Neuer.
Monaco, currently at the 5th place in Ligue 1 and 3 points from the podium, can still achieve his goal of returning to the podium. To finally find the Champions League, which the club has not contested since the 2018-2019 season, failing each time since then at the play-off level.
For the moment, it is rather calm in the direction of arrivals.
The Monegasques are said to be all about Oscar Gloukh, 18, considered the future of broadcast football. The player’s agent, who appeals to many French, Scottish and Russian clubs, confirmed to a media product well in discussions with the club of the principality.
But with the sale of Badiashile, Monaco is in any case giving itself more leeway for this winter transfer window which can hold surprises on the side of the Rock.
