For the third consecutive day, at the Leușeni-Albita border crossing point, on the way out of the Republic of Moldova, there are dozens of vehicles waiting to cross the border.

“At this time, the Leușeni PTF is active in sports mode to clear cross-border traffic. On the way out of the Republic of Moldova, there is an increased flow of passengers and means of transport”, the border guards informed.
The waiting time reaches up to 30 minutes, and the border police have taken several actions to remedy it, including supplementing the number of employees.
Meanwhile, representatives of the General Inspectorate of the Border Police urge Moldovans, who go on vacation or return to work in Europe, to check the situation at the border crossing points before starting their journey.
“We recommend travelers, before setting off, to consult the Green Line of the Border Police (022 259 717) or to check online the situation at the crossing points”, scores the employees of the institution.
The Moldovan-Romanian border is not only the most crowded, but also the most crossed in the first days of 2023.
Of the total number of crossings registered on January 3, 52,774 to be exact, 32,003 were reported at the border with Romania. A number more than twice lower, i.e. 13,931 crossings were at the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, and another 6,840 at the air border.
The most travelers were foreigners, that is 30,310 in number, and the crossings of Moldovan citizens constituted 22,464.
