The driver ran away from the wrecked car. This did not prevent the detection of crimes
The pre-Christmas fever that happened to a 34-year-old driver in Odolena Voda in Prague-East quickly turned into a more serious fight – and for him, it has unpleasant spillovers into the new year.

On Wednesday, January 4, police spokeswoman Barbora Schneeweissová informed about it. “One day before Christmas, he smashed into a street lamp. He was driving under the influence of alcohol – and with a driving ban on top of that,” she summarized three essential moments.
Everything began to surface gradually. First, a crashed Volkswagen Golf was found; deserted. The man who had been behind the wheel before escaped the accident without injury, but the police soon tracked him down. And it soon became apparent why he did not fulfill his legal obligation and did not report the accident. A breath test showed a two per mille result. Then it turned out that this man has a valid driving ban: for another year.

Thus, suddenly, the suspicion of committing two crimes was added to the solving of the demolition. “For endangerment under the influence of an addictive substance and obstructing the execution of an official decision, there can be up to a three-year prison sentence,” noted Schneeweissová.
