Sparta – Budějovice 5:3, Sparta defeated Budějovice in the end
The home team, which lacked four defenders of the basic squad, started actively and calmly outplayed the opponents. Already in the first minute, Horák could have opened the scoring, but Horák managed to do it only in the 6th minute, which surely ended Sparta’s good action.
The people of Prague continued their attacking game in the 11th minute, Konečný prepared the final goal for Gustaf Thorell. However, the guests equalized in a flash, when a lone Čachotský got in front of Kovař right after the goal and reduced the score to 1:2 from the Motor’s point of view.
He could just as quickly answer Tomášek on the other side, but he could not overcome Hrachovina. Thanks to this, Strnad was able to equalize in the 19th minute, whose shot fell behind Kovář’s back. Sparta’s goalkeeper subsequently dropped the puck, but after checking the video, it appears that it crossed the goal line.
Sparta could return to the lead in power plays, but it cannot punish the defective Hovorka and Valský. The home team won only in the 26th minute, when Sobotka put Hrachovin through and scored his 100th point in the Prague shirt. Erik Thorell could have added another goal shortly after, but he failed in the end. The home team continued to dictate the tempo of the game, but often outplayed actions in the attacking zone.
And they regretted it in the third period. After Safin failed to convert his chance, the South Bohemians managed to equalize. Hanzl’s pass from behind the goal was used by Percy to beat Kovar for the third time. Sparta tried to cancel the goal by calling attention to the position of the attacking player in the goal area, but the referee did not recognize her protest.
In another numerical advantage, Řepík and Tomášek could have returned the lead to the Praguers, but Hrachovina scored twice excellently. In the end, he beat them with David Vituch’s chance. At the very end, however, the goalkeeper from České Budějovice quickly played the puck, which the home team and Erik Thorell immediately got to. The engine tried to cancel the coaching activity with the goal, but failed. The match thus ended in weakness. Nevertheless, the South Bohemians recalled the goalkeeper and conceded one more time.
