MOLA DI BARI – Saturday 7 January 2023, at 8.45 pm, in Church of the Sacred Heart of Mola di Bari the 2023 Agìmus season will kick off with a Grand Gala at the beginning of the year which will feature the three tenors Francesco Panni, Zi-Zhao Guo and Francesco Zingariello.
With theIco 131 Symphony Orchestra of Basilicata directed by Zingariello himself and the pianist and arranger Angelo Nigrothe three tenors of the third millennium will lead the audience on an exciting musical journey from melodrama to Hollywood, with an obligatory stop in Vienna, the capital of the waltz and a reference model for greetings in music since 1939, the year in which the traditional New Year’s Eve from the Golden Hall of the Musikverein.
Therefore, the great show of the three tenors also touches Puglia, which in past years was taken on tour in Canada with an extraordinary success with the public, always very sensitive to the transversal nature of this proposal, in which the tenor voice, multiplied by three, goes beyond genres under the banner of eclecticism, expression of an increasingly desirable multiplicity and in the name of which the Agìmus association directed by Piero Rotolo presents itself at the starting blocks of the new year with a message of harmony and serenity. Francesco Panni, Zi-Zhao and Francesco Zingariello will try their hand at a particularly varied repertoire characterized by Angelo Nigro’s arrangements, all original and marked by contamination. In fact, the program includes famous opera arias (Nessun dorma, La donna è mobile), the great Italian song alongside living room romances (Musica Forbidden, Talk to me about love, Non ti scordar di me, Mamma, Caruso), South American music (La cumparsita, Quizas quizas, Celito lindo) and the international successes of the Stars and Stripes brand (Singing in the rain, Over the rainbow, New York, New York). And, of course, Viennese waltzes and polkas (Sul bel Danube blu, Annen polka, Kaiser waltz, Trisch trasch polka) together with the great classics of the traditional Neapolitan tradition (‘O Paese d”o sole, O surdato ‘nnammurato, Funiculì funiculà, ‘Oh my sun).
