Criminal couple spend double euros in Antwerp and Mechelen with money from phishing victims (Antwerp)
The police and the public prosecutor’s office have issued a search notice for a couple who have made various fraudulent purchases in recent months in Antwerp and Mechelen, among others. The criminals paid with money from phishing victims from Germany.

The facts took place between August 2022 and October 2022. In an electronics store in Antwerp, among others, a man and a woman bought expensive Apple products. “The purchased were paid contactless with the mobile phone bank details of German victims were stored. Those data were stolen by phishing”, the federal police said in the search notice.
“The suspects used different names and aliases such as ‘Sefer Halil’ and ‘Onder Samir’ or variants thereof,” the police said. At the same time, the duo is part of a larger international network.
According to the local detective, the cybercrime department of the Antwerp police has captured the couple for at least 30,000 euros in this way. During that period, the couple also visited shops in Mechelen, Brussels, Ypres and a few German cities. They have moved with a partial step and by train.
The first suspect is a man around 30 years old. He speaks German and is about 1m80 tall and of normal build. The man has dark hair, a mustache and a stubble beard.
The second suspect is a woman around 30 years old and speaks German. She is about 5’6″ tall, of normal build and has long black hair.
