The bitten cyclist was soon joined by a bitten policeman on the outskirts of Prague
First, an aggressive dog tried a cyclist, then a member of the police patrol who came to solve the situation did not escape a similar fate. The office of the director of the Prague Municipal Police, Irena Seifertová, informed on Wednesday about the incident, which took place on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 2, in Jílovišťská street in Lipenci, on the southern edge of the metropolis.

The man with the bicycle, who had an injured calf, but refused the treatment offered by the police officers, explained to the patrol that he and his daughter went for a bicycle ride – and two dogs started attacking them. As she tried to protect her daughter, one of them bit him on the leg. A pair of dogs that were attached to each other by a leash were actually running around. And she certainly didn’t seem friendly; rather wildly and furiously.
“The dogs kept trying to attack everyone present. But suddenly a man summoned them from the unfenced plot,” Seifertová recalled the development of events. One of the police officers went to see the person in question to have the documents presented to him and to discuss the situation with him further. About half way, the dogs ran towards him. The officer called to the man to secure them, but he did not respond. Finally, one of the dogs showed little respect for the uniform. “They bit the policeman’s leg and caused a laceration,” stated Seifertová.

Then even the paramedics and the police had work. The policeman who was bitten was taken to the hospital for treatment – and the Police of the Czech Republic took over the solution of the case, although it continues to deal with it. Still in the presence of the city police, the 44-year-old man stated that the dogs did not belong; he only has them “to look after”. And he doesn’t even know the owner’s name…
For a change, Seifertová drew attention to the dog in the role of victim on Tuesday in connection with the case from the last day of the past year. If someone is drunk during the New Year’s Eve celebrations in the center of Prague, the police officers usually don’t deal with it much – but this time a 40-year-old man was caught and still faces administrative proceedings. The patrol was called to him on the afternoon of December 31 by a witness waiting for the tram, saying that he was beating a dog in Bolzano Street. Fist – and repeatedly. When she admonished him, the obviously drunk gentleman had already started swearing obscenely.

“He didn’t listen, so he got what he deserved,” the man then explained to the officers. But he didn’t exactly talk to them in a salon way either. And the rough form matched the rough content: he declared that I could do whatever I wanted with my animal; feel free to kill him. Finally, he began verbally attacking the members of the patrol. Because he breathed in over three per thousand, he was taken to the detention center. The rescue service took the dog to the Troy shelter, where it remains. The clerk has already decided to remove it.
An apathetic animal giving a neglected impression on inspection and examinations. Because it was stressed, it was given sedatives. However, no injuries were found, so the police ruled out foul play.
