Antwerp mayor Bart De Wever has lodged an objection against the opening of the Vinci Club gym of kickboxer Jamal Ben Saddik on January 2 in Deurne.
Bart De Wever believes that the Vinci Club of the famous kickboxer Jamal Ben Saddik poses too great a threat to public order. As an argument why, among other things, he went to the fireworks attack on the night of December 12 to 13. Unknowns when heavy fireworks explode at the club in the Cruyslei. She interrupted between graffiti with a dream message to 32-year-old Jamal Ben Saddik: “Kill JBS De Thief”.

The recent attack is not isolated, but is part of a long series of attacks on homes and businesses connected to the Ben Saddik family. The violence would be related to a conflict in the drug environment, in which brothers of the Belgian Moroccan kickboxer would be involved, writes The newspapaer.

Jamal Ben Saddik has always distanced himself from the attacks and said two weeks ago that he decided the perpetrators. “I have no idea where this comes from. I wish myself mental strength, patience and perseverance to successfully complete the kickboxing club that I will open for youth. That is what counts: never surrender to hate and intimidation,” said the kickboxer who thinks the closure of the club by the mayor is unjustified. “We are fighting this unjustified closure with the Council of State, which will rule next week,” said Ben Saddik.
