A big interview with actor Radim Fiala: Prague’s battle with Moravia
What in life could you never forgive?
“In time, all hardships and betrayals will pass anyway. Time is the best doctor. It’s possible to forgive twice, but I don’t know if I could give a third chance… To err is human, but to forgive is much more difficult.”
Are you in crisis for a long time, have you already suffered from some kind of deficiency during your life?
“That is a good question. Each of us has felt some need or lack at some point in our lives. Mostly it was only about material matters. But thank God, I always had my family and friends by my side, on whom I could fully lean. On the other hand, everyone should look to the bottom in life to appreciate times of abundance and peace more. And every crisis will eventually pass… I hope that everything will turn out well and that people will have sense. I’m just a little bit concerned that we can raise our children and live our lives in peace, in peace and in freedom, which I think is terribly important because a lot of people don’t realize that we have freedom here that we’ve paid hard for. “
Have you gotten into a situation in your personal and professional life that didn’t match your values, so you walked away from it?
“Not every step a person takes in the course of life is always in the right direction. I can only speculate if I should or should not have played in this or that part, or if the track so far is legible. You always go into every job with the intention of doing your best for the good of the cause. However, it does not always end with a satisfactory result. Roads of good intentions usually end in hell… And as for everyday life, if you meet someone else who pretends to be a friend, and you know or suspect that everything is not as it should be, it is better to cut it off . Life is short, so why should we drink stupid wine – as the old winemaking saying goes. And you really only have a few true friends. And they value them all the more!”

And what values do you recognize in life?
“It’s sometimes even funny when I sometimes read interviews of some “colleagues from work” or people who get a chance to express themselves. In many cases, I only read their inflated egos and insufficient general knowledge, and almost no one mentions as national pride, honor, simply not being ashamed of the fact that we are Czechs, Moravians, Wallachians… I don’t want to stir up national quarrels here, but if you are constantly told , even if with a little exaggeration that you do not come from the womb of mother Prague, I must proudly exclaim – Bohunice forever! And if we get angry, like us floodwaters, other rules will apply for Průhonice and let’s forget about visa-free relations with Moravia.”
Have you ever met someone in your life who threw sticks at your feet?
“And you don’t? After all, not everyone fights within the game or according to the rules of fair play.”
So how do you deal with such situations?
“I grit my teeth and wonder if I should take justice into my own hands or hire a professional service on the darknet. And with that, I’ll make the case out of the world…”
What are you trying to lead your sons to do?
“Until they correctly write soft and hard and/or can add up to the correct result. And as my heir Svata used to say – those who don’t thank you will get nothing next time!’
What was the last time your children made you happy?
“Do children make you happy? They say, small children – small worries, big children – big worries.”
Speaking of children – are you in your prime, are you planning to have another child?
“God judge. None of us knows what will happen, what will happen…”
