Support for smoother public transport in Prague. More than four kilometers of bus lanes were created
The most significant expansion of public transport preferences in Prague
Tupolevova: following ongoing maintenance, a comprehensive change in the traffic regime between Beranových and Veselská streets, new sections of bus lanes at the approaches to Tupolevova stops (April)
Strakonická: bus lane from the Dostihová stop to the Barrandovský most, with a construction extension (April + November section near Malá Chuchla). The bus lane became the longest continuous section reserved for buses in Prague.
Freyova: slight extension of the bus lane to Českomoravská with optimization of the entrance to the intersection (August, coordination with moving the Nádraží Libeň stop in the opposite direction before the intersection to K Žižkovu Street)
To Žižkov: bus line to Českomoravská with termination in the new bay of the relocated Nádraží Libeň station (May)
The footbridge from the subway to the new railway station will be built by Strabag. In anthracite color
Hornomecholupská: extension of the bus lane in front of the Řepčická stop (September)
Opatovská: restoration of the bus lane in front of Chilská following the reconfiguration of the intersection with long Chilská, which canceled the right turn lane (November)
Ramp from V Holešovičkách street: bus lane for arrival at the Bulovka stop (November)
The passage of lines 136+213 is helped by a new bypass for the passage from Türkova to Chilská within the roundabout of Litochlebské náměstí.
Small, but operationally significantly beneficial changes were changes to the termination of the bus lanes in Ankarská, Jugoslávské partizánů, V Horkách, Vysočanská (overpass) and Výstavní streets.
Additional bus lanes were created as part of other measures (cycling integration, pedestrian crossings) in Durychova, U Kamýku, Roztylská streets and on the ramp from Zenklova to V Holešovičkách street.
In connection with the reconstruction of the Barrandovský bridge, there was a treatment and a more pronounced transition of measures – in particular, the bus lane in Modřanská street from Dvorce, bus lane sections in Jeremenkova, Vrbova and Ke Krč streets, a section of the tram line in Hlubočepi.
More changes next year
The transformation of Prague transport in favor of public transport should continue next year as well. Ropid is examining the possibilities of improving the conditions for the passage of buses thanks to a change in the traffic regime. Construction projects for the establishment of bus lanes are also being prepared. This is especially the section of Českobrodská Street (between the Blatov and Na Vaňhově stops), Horoměřická Street (in the entire rise from Šárecký údolí to the Bořislavka stop) and Náchodská Street (from the Prague border to the edge of the Horní Počernice development).
Prague will limit traffic in the center due to New Year’s celebrations. Metro service is extended
Gradually, the preference for light signals is also being strengthened. In 2022, preference was added to another 22 light-controlled intersections for buses and 4 intersections for trams. With the renewal of the vehicle fleet, the equipment of the buses of private carriers is being improved so that these vehicles can also communicate with the controllers of light-controlled intersections in the same way as the buses of Dopravní podniku hl. m of Prague.
