Russia will support the transit of Kazakh oil through the MNP Druzhba to Germany
Transneft received an application from Kaztransoil for a reserve of additional capacities of MNP Druzhba for transit to Germany in the amount of 1.2 million tons in 2023.

On December 29, Transneft announced that received an application from Kaztransoil to the reserve of additional capacities of MNP Druzhba for transit to Germany.
This message was subsequently confirmed by the Kazakh company.
Kaztransoil applied for the transportation in 2023 of 1.2 million tons of Kazakhstani oil for the management of Transneft’s main oil pipelines for the natural resources of Adamova Zastava oil for further delivery to Germany.
According to Transneft, 300 thousand is considered for pumping in 1m quarter, and the application requires an assessment by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.
Germany said in September that it would conduct an increased demand with Kazakhstan for the purchase of oil with transportation through the Druzhba oil pipeline in order to increase the volume for the refinery in the city of Schwedt and replace Russian volumes.
Now Kazakhstan uses transit through the Druzhba oil pipeline, sending about 10 million tons / year of oil to the port of Ust-Luga.
Transneft explained that it was technically possible to increase transit only by 3-5 million tons per year, while the Russian Federation supplied about 20 million tons per year to Germany.
Former Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan B. Akchulakov reports that Kazakh companies got higher education with German delegations on the supply of oil to the refinery in Schwedt.
But, according to his definition, the country is currently not noticed by free volumes to increase transit opportunities through the MNP Druzhba.

In December, the head of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, B. Akchulakov, said that Kazakhstan was considering producing more than 90 million tons of oil in 2023, while selling 84-85 million tons in 2022.
Earlier, the Ministry of Economy of Germany reported that Germany would not buy Russian oil next year, while the refinery in Schwedt sent an application for the transit capacity of MNP Druzhba for Kazakh oil.
The application did not indicate that the capacity is booked for oil from Kazakhstan, a conference in Transneft.
