The wait is almost over: the new year is about to arrive. And with it also the traditional Vienna New Year’s Concert 2023, the largest classical music concert in Europe that all fans of the genre are anxiously awaiting. Several hours in which music and life merge into one thing. And as always it will be possible to see it live on TV and in streaming. In fact, Rai has purchased the rights and will broadcast the event on Rai2 in give 1.30 pm at 3.40pm. For those who cannot watch it live, there will be a deferred broadcast in prime time on Rai5 from 9.15pm to 11.30pm.
In simulcast with the delayed television broadcast of Rai 2, the Vienna Philharmonic’s New Year’s Concert 2023 will be visible in streaming on RaiPlayRai’s video streaming platform. RaiPlay it is available via app on smartphones, tablets and Smart TVs, or via the official website raiplay.it on computers.
The artistic direction is entrusted to Franz Welser-Möst. Music by Johann Strauss father and son, and then mainly by Eduard and Josef Strauss, with the two classic encores concluding: The Beautiful Blue Danube and Radetzky’s March.
