New Year’s concert with Alvise Casellati and the Padua and Veneto Orchestra at the Verdi theatre
PADUA – New Year’s Eve, time for well-wishing concerts for 2023 also in Padua.
To the Verdi Theater at 17 the traditional appointment with the “New Year’s concert” organized by the municipal councilorship for culture, a special appointment ready to ignite great emotions on the notes of extraordinary music. Protagonists on stageOrchestra of Padua and Veneto directed by Alvise Casellati, son of the former president of the Senate and current Minister of Reforms Maria Elisabetta Alberti. The soloists will be Giuliana Gianfaldoni (soprano protagonist of the edition of Beatrice di Tenda performed at the Valle d’Itria Festival in Martina Franca last summer), Aya Wakizono (young mezzo-soprano of great value, thanks to a privileged vocality and great intensity as performer and actress), supported by the young tenor Dave Monaco and the Cuban baritone Jorge Nelson Martinez.
The program in the magical atmosphere of the Christmas holidays will combine the emotion of timeless music, with pieces ready to awaken memories and ignite emotions from the very first notes, from the Overture of “La Cavalleria Leggera” by Franz von Suppé to the Cavatina of Figaro by “The Barber of Seville” by Giacomo Rossini up to the inevitable Waltzes by Strauss. A lineup that will highlight the virtuosity and harmony of the soloists and the instrumental team, offering the viewer a journey to be experienced with the desire to let himself be enveloped by the surprising flow of the songs, infinite cues of emotion and evocation in the ways of music. Casellati’s skilful baton, one of the best emerging conductors of recent years and guest of the most important international theaters and festivals, will guide renowned artists with important concert careers in Italy and abroad (last tickets available on www.teatrostabileveneto .it).
New Year’s Eve among the notes also in the province
I Paduan musicians in collaboration with the Municipality of Abano Terme they present the “New Year’s Concert – Gran Galà dell’Opera” at 5 pm at the Marconi Theater cinema: the sopranos Simonetta Baldin and Stefania Miotto and the tenor Enrico Pertile will be accompanied by the Ensemble Venice Opera Concert (Matteo Mignolli flute, Mirko Satto accordion, Elisa Saglia violin, Fabrizio Castania viola, Alessandro Spagnuolo double bass, Cristiano Zanellato piano). The performances will range from the great opera by Bizet, Rossini, Verdi and Puccini to the Waltz and Operetta by Strauss and Lehar; grand finale, as in the famous Vienna Concert, with Radetzky’s march (30 euros, pre-sales at Abano Terme Iat and Amon Viaggi and Montegrotto Iat and on www.imusicipatavini.it).
“Hollywood Music – The great soundtracks” will instead be the theme of the concert by the Orchestra Regionale Filarmonia Veneta at 5 pm at the Cinema Teatro Aurora in Campodarsego with classics by Henry Mancini, such as The Pink Panther, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Peter Gunn and the timeless western atmospheres by Ennio Morricone with The Magnificent Seven, West Side Story, James Bond, Grease, Titanic, La La Land, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean (10 euro on www.myarteven.it and Vivaticket) .
Lastly, the start of the year in a gospel key at 5.30 pm at the Palaberta in Montegrotto Terme with the Summertime choir directed by Walter Ferrulli and made up of 50 singers and 5 musicians engaged in a journey between Christian rock, great pop hits revisited in a funk key and songs of its own composition. The Paduan singing group, which recently sold out at the Gran Teatro Geox in Padua for the charity show “Smile for Cuamm”, was a guest of Pope John Paul II for four editions of the Christmas Concert in the Vatican and he has participated in numerous television broadcasts such as the Ice Christmas Gala and the latest edition of Italia’s Got Talent (10 euros on www.myarteven.it or Circuito Vivaticket).
