Bremerhaven (dpa / bb) – The Eisbären Berlin suffered their next defeat in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). On Wednesday evening, the German champions lost 2-1 (1-1, 0-1, 0-0) at Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven. The goal for the Berliners was scored by Marcel Noebels.
In front of 4647 spectators in the Eisarena Bremerhaven, the hosts started with the better chances. Eisbären goalkeeper Tobias Ancicka was put to the test after just a few seconds. The first goal came in the second minute when Bremerhaven’s Christian Wejse scored to give the hosts the lead. As a result, however, the Berliners also increased, who finally managed to place the disc in the opposing goal in the majority. In the 15th minute, Nöbels could make it 1-1.
In the middle section, the momentum was still with the guests, who defended the puck better and also survived two underman phases unscathed. However, Bremerhaven took advantage of the third penalty and took the lead through Dominik Uher in the 39th minute.
Coach Serge Aubin’s team then tried to increase the pressure again in the final third. However, many inaccuracies in the structure and in the passing game prevented the polar bears from being able to score points off the ice.
