Possetti, stomach revolt hypothesis Benetton return
(ANSA) – GENOA, DECEMBER 27 – “The trial hearings have begun with the hearing of the witnesses, we are entering the heart of the criminal trial and our attention is focused on these issues but there is other news that makes our stomachs turn” . Thus Egle Possetti, president of the Ponte Morandi Victim Remembrance Committee comments on some hypotheses, which appeared in the press on Christmas Eve. “It seems – writes Possetti – that the new shareholders of Aspi with Cdp, the Macquarie and Blackstone funds already want to have some profits, after their entry into the field before investing in the notorious infrastructure renovation work and it seems that the company is immobile after the acquisition with the public part identified in Cdp.Based on what seems to have been agreed in the sale and underlined by complaints presented to the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office – continues Possetti -, this entity seems reduced to an almost minority shareholder. citizens on the future safety of infrastructures, also because, unfortunately, we have not had much feedback on safety in the previous management.
In this chaos of stagnation, of “I want to be useful”, what would some ‘superior mind’ think of doing? He would think of making a big capital increase to dare profits to the funds and to bring the Benetton family, the majority shareholder at the time of the collapse of the Morandi bridge, back through the window. We have been through a lot since that day as relatives of the victims and as sentient citizens and we think we have had enough, of having endured our will, in addition to everything else also the sale of Aspi with stellar remuneration to the previous shareholders in whose structure the Benetton who have received unheard-of compensation for selling shares that should have been considered waste paper”.
For the transfer “we hope for a fair and in-depth intervention but as citizens and as relatives we demand clarity also from the Government. We hope not to witness yet another shame or other underground messes still disfiguring the 43 victims, their families and all Italian citizens” .
