Big firecracker explodes, starting fire for taxi in Florence – Tuscany
It was turned off by a passerby. Police investigations
(ANSA) – FLORENCE, DECEMBER 27 – A fire started yesterday around 8 pm in Florence in a taxi that was parked in Novoli. The cause of it, according to what was reconstructed by the police who intervened together with the firefighters, would have been a large firecracker which exploded at the height of a car tyre, resulting in a blaze: traces of burns were found near the wheel of the taxi.
The episode didn’t have worse consequences thanks to the intervention of a passerby who, having taken a bottle of water in a bar, would have extinguished the principle of the fire and then walked away.
From the first investigations, it is excluded that it could be an act of intimidation towards the taxi driver, who lives nearby and was alerted by some neighbors to what had happened. Among the hypotheses there is rather that it may have been some kids who set off the big firecracker for fun, then causing the principle of fire. The police are collecting testimonies to reconstruct the incident and will examine the images taken by the cameras installed in the area. (HANDLE).
