“The European market remains relevant, since the shortage of gas has occurred, and we have every opportunity to resume supplies,” TASS quoted the words as saying.
“For example, the Yamal-Europe pipeline, which has been shut down across the board, remains unused.”
The Yamal-Europe pipeline is normally used to take fuel to the west, but since December 2021, a generally reverse recommendation has been offered, as Poland has refused purchases from Russia when using gas stored in Germany.
In May, Warsaw terminated its agreement with Russia, having previously abandoned its past need for roubles.
Russian supplier Gazprom responded to the consumption of the offer and also said it could no longer export gas through Poland after Moscow imposed sanctions on the firm that owns the Polish section of the Yamal-Europe pipeline.
Novak also confirmed that Moscow is discussing additional gas supplies via Turkey after a hub is set up there.
He also revealed that Moscow expects it to supply Europe with 21 billion cubic meters of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in 2022.
“This year we have managed to significantly increase LNG supplies to Europe,” Novak said. “For 11 months of 2022, they increased to 19.4 billion cubic meters, by the end of the year 21 billion cubic meters are expected.”
In the vast TASS news agency, parts of which were published over the weekend, Novak also said that Russia had agreed with Azerbaijan on the selection of suppliers for consumption.
“In the future, when they increase gas production, we will be able to capture the swaps,” he said.
According to him, Moscow is also discussing increasing the share of its gas in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Novak also said that in the foreseeable future, Russia can send its gas exports to the territory of Afghanistan and consume either using the currency of Central Asia, or in exchange with the territory of Iran.
