Where and which works it will be possible to see
Specifically in the church of Saint Udalrictwo canvases from the beginning of the 18th century by an unknown author are exhibited, which are part of a cycle of five canvases depicting scenes from the Gospel related to the infancy of Jesus. The five canvases were most likely part of the furnishings of the ancient church of San Sebastian, a church appears to be held by the confraternity of the Battuti Laici and located where the Troier butcher’s shop is now. The two canvases depict the Adoration of the Shepherds and the Adoration of the Magi.
In the church of San Giovanni Nepomuceno in Lavisat the foot of the beautiful altarpiece by Francesco Sebaldo Unterpergher, you can admire a painting of the adoration of the Magi by an 18th-century Tyrolean painter.
In the Church of Loretto you can contemplate the Nativity of the Tyrolean painter Albin Egger Lienz from 1921. Albin Egger Lienz was born in 1868 in Striebach near Lienz as the illegitimate son of Maria Trojer and Georg Egger. From 1884 to 1893 Albin attended the Munich Academy of Fine Arts. In 1899 the artist moved to Vienna. Only one year later he became a member of the “Künstlerhaus” (House of Artists) and the “Hagenbundes”. In 1909 he became a member of the Vienna Secession, from which, however, after only seven years he withdrew. A few years later, in 1912, Albin Egger became a professor at the Weimar Academy of Fine Arts. After a few years of work as a professor, the artist moved to S. Giustina near Bolzano to work there as a free artist. Albin Egger-Lienz died on November 4, 1926 at the Grünwaldhof in S. Giustina in Bolzano.
