Dutchman shot down in Antwerp was partying in a nightclub

The 26-year-old man from Vlissingen, who was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the center of Antwerp on Sunday morning, had simultaneously been at a party in a nightclub in the Belgian city that attracted many Zeelanders. This was confirmed by the public prosecutor’s office in Antwerp. The victim was thrown from a car around 06:00 near the Melkmarkt, close to the Grote Markt.
The driver of the car with Dutch license plates took off. The vehicle was later found near Middelburg and is still being investigated for traces, with the help of the Dutch police.
The victim was taken to hospital. He is said to be out of danger, but his condition is still critical, reports a statement from the public prosecutor’s office in Antwerp.
A 20-year-old man who died with the victim is arrested and taken for questioning. He is still being questioned by the Belgian police. The public prosecutor’s office thinks that there were more occupants in the car and are looking.
The public prosecutor in Antwerp is leading the investigation. It is not yet known where and why the victim was shot and who all were involved.
