Akar: Greece harasses our planes
The Turkish provocation rages on, this time from the defense minister of the neighboring country, Hulusi Akarwho accused her Hellas why harasses Turkish aircraftspeaking at the editors’ briefing in Ankara
In particular, he said: “Despite our realistic and honest behavior, Greece unfortunately illegally continues the provocations, escalates the tension, its aggressive actions and rhetoric. Greece has harassed our planes, serving in scheduled NATO exercises, twice in the last week, despite the fact that all our allies have been informed in advance.”
Akar pointed out? “This hostile attitude clearly shows that NATO’s fundamental principles and claims have become arrogant to the point of audacity. It is time for NATO to put an end to this behavior. The answer has been given to all kinds of unjust and illegal actions of Greece in the diplomatic and field so far and will be given in the future as well”.
Afterwards, he emphasized, “Those who sacrifice their country’s resources and the well-being of their people for the interests of other countries and those who base their political existence on hostility towards Turkey, are again in the foreground with their provocative actions and rhetoric. Our neighbor, the healthy Greek people, we both know them very well. Our expectation is that these Greek politicians and military will immediately abandon their intransigent and provocative stances for domestic political purposes, focus on solving problems through dialogue and learn from history, especially from what happened on September 9, 1922.”
Regarding Cyprus, the Turkish Foreign Minister pointed out that “we are talking about two sovereign, equal and independent states. The issue is no longer the establishment of this state. It is a matter of recognizing this state that has been established”.
