Prague – The Prague coalition together (ODS, TOP 09 and KDU-ČSL) and the Pirates will once again start discussing a possible coalition at the municipality. The negotiating expert teams will meet at the beginning of January next year and start discussing the program body. ČTK was informed by Mayor Zdeněk Hřib (Pirates) and the chairman of Spolu deputies Zdeněk Zajíček (ODS). The parties, together with the STAN movement, have been negotiating a possible coalition since the September elections, but negotiations were interrupted about two weeks ago due to disagreements. Spolu won the elections in Prague ahead of ANO and Pirates.
“The goal of the meeting was to agree on a meeting schedule and further progress in the new year. The management teams will meet in January and start discussing key points for the capital. I see this as the beginning of a new stage of negotiations,” said Hřib.
“During the holidays, internal communication will take place in individual clubs, and after the new year we will meet in the program-gesture teams of potential coalition partners. The benefit of the people of Prague is decisive for us, and now we will focus even more on 3K – communication, compromise and coalition,” he said today Bunny. Together, according to his words, he still prefers the option of a coalition on the government’s plan, i.e. with the Pirates and STAN.
Negotiations on the municipal coalition began immediately after the elections. Since then, representatives of the individual parties have been meeting continuously. Together, they advocated the creation of a coalition period, such as the government one, i.e. with the Pirates and STAN. But the negotiations ended in failure.
In the past two weeks, Spolu started negotiating with ANO to support its minority council. However, even these negotiations ended without an agreement. The parties did not agree on all program points, and when he wanted to elect a new mayor, they did not get enough votes. Senator and councilor Hana Kordová Marvanová (Spolu) opposed the agreement with ANO.
The Spolu coalition won the municipal elections this year, winning 19 mandates in the 65-member council. ANO ended second with 14 mandates. The third Pirates have 13 representatives and Praha Sobě 11 mandates. Five representatives belong to STAN, the sixth SPD won three mandates.
