István Törőcsik, who also played in the Budapest Honvéd as a teammate of Ferenc Puskás, was born 90 years ago – he remembered the former midfielder website of the Puskás Institute.

István Törőcsik was born on December 23, 1932 – according to other sources, on December 24 – in Kiskunfélegyháza – according to other sources, in Budapest. In 1954, he joined Budapest Honvéd, with which he won the Hungarian championship twice, and once won the Central European Cup with the team. He also took part in the banned South American tour of Ferenc Puskás in 1957.
István Törőcsik played in the Hungarian B national team and reached the squad in the A national team. Ferenc Puskás’ former teammate died in 2019 at the age of 86.
