BCL: Dijon, Limoges and Strasbourg know their opponents
If Strasbourg is directly qualified for the knockout stages of the Basketball Champions League, Dijon and Limoges must go through play-Ins.
Each of the 16 teams that finished in second or third place in their respective regular season pools will face off in a best-of-three Play-In series. The second-placed teams have home advantage in each series:
UCAM Murcia (ESP; 2nd in Group A) against Pinar Karsiyaka (TUR; 3rd in Group B)
AEK (GRE; 2nd in Group B) against Tofa Bursa (TUR; 3rd in Group A)
Hapoel Atsmon Holon (ISR; 2nd in Group C) against . Igokea m:tel (BIH; 3rd in Group D)
Bahcesehir College (TUR; 2nd in Group D) against Filou Ostend (BEL; 3rd in group C)
MHP RIESEN (GER; 2nd in Group E) against Limoges CSP (FRA; 3rd in Group F)
SL Benfica (POR; 2nd in Group F) against Darussafaka (TUR; 3rd in Group E)
JDA Burgundy Dijon (FRA; 2nd in Group G) against Peristeri (GRE; 3rd in Group H)
Rytas Vilnius (LTU; 2nd in Group H) against PAOK mateco (GRE; 3rd in group G)
The first match of each Play-in series will take place on Tuesday, January 3 or Wednesday, January 4, 2023, with the second matches taking place on January 10 and 11. Any streak tied after the first two games will end in a playoff on January 17-18. The exact dates and times will be specified.
The first eight tickets to the Round of 16 have already found their owners, as the teams that won their respective regular-season groups secured a direct spot: GIS Strasbourg (FRA; Group A winner); Telekom Sneakers Bonn (GER; Group B winner); Nave of Galatasaray (TUR; winner of Group C); Surne Bilbao (ESP; winner of Group D); Bank Hapoel Yahav Jerusalem (ISR; Group E winner); BAXI Manresa (ESP; winner of Group F); Unicaja (ESP; Group G winner); Lenovo Tenerife (ESP; Group H winner)
Once these teams are assembled by the winners of the Play-In matches, the 16 teams will be divided into four groups of four teams each. The composition of the four round of 16 groups is determined by drawing lots, as follows:
GROUP I: GIS Strasbourg ; Bank Hapoel Yahav Jerusalem ; Hapoel Atsmon Holon OU Igokea m:tel ; JDA Burgundy Dijon OU Peristeri
GROUP J: Telekom Sneakers Bonn ; BAXI Manresa ; Bahcesehir College OU Filou Ostend ; Rytas Vilnius OU PAOK mateco
GROUP K: Nave of Galatasaray ; Unicaja ; AEK OU Tofa Bursa ; MHP RIESEN OU Limoges CSP
GROUP L:Surne Bilbao ; Lenovo Tenerife ; UCAM Murcia OU Pinar Karsiyaka ; SL Benfica OU Darussafaka
The round of 16 will begin on January 24 and will be played in a home and away format as was the case with the regular season format).
The two teams that finish in the first two places in each group will qualify for the quarter-finals.
