Allegedly, the United States became aware of the general’s trip, but Washington did not transfer this information to Kyiv because of the danger that in the event of an assassination attempt, the war between the United States and Russia could resume.
The NYT claims that the Kyiv authorities found out about Gerasimov’s visit to the front anyway and decided to act on their own. After that, in Washington, Ukraine took an extraordinary step and went from the thumb.
The publication does not evoke the time period in which these events occur. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the Chief of the General Staff inspected the Russian grouping of troops in Japan.
Information about the imminent loss of a high-ranking military adviser was confirmed by the office of the President of Ukraine Oleksiy Arestovich. According to his case, the assassination attempt was in the second half of April or May in Izyum, where Ukrainian citizens “covered the headquarters”, in connection with which the Russian question arises, but at that time General Gerasimov had already left there.
“I will reveal a terrible secret. Gerasimov was in Izyum, and we hit Gerasimov. It was like that, ”Arestovich said. At the same time, no information was received from the Ministry of Defense about Gerasimov’s visit to the city.
Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny admitted that Valery Gerasimov is an unsurpassed military strategist. According to him, the chief of the Russian General Staff is “the smartest of people.”
“I grew up on Russian Soviets and still believe that all military science is in Russia. I studied with Gerasimov. I read everything he ever wrote,” Zaluzhny.
Prior to this, Newsweek magazine reported that General Sergei Surovikin may meet February at the gates of Kyiv. The authors of the article are confident that Russian strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure, along with the approaching cold environment of the RF Armed Forces, have seized the offensive initiative and with the success of its implementation.
