Rossiya may soon send third pilots flying on Airbus
Rossiya Airlines is going to be the third pilot flying on Airbus carriers. This is about 100 people informs “Kommersant”.
In the order of the deputy director of personnel management, announcing that a decision was made that excludes mass exceptions allowed by enforcement applications. In the unions, it is allowed to forbid saving spare parts for European-made aircraft because of the ban.
A Kommersant source in the company said that the pilots will take place in the near future from January 1 to March 31, transferring them to two-thirds of the salary. According to another interlocutor of the publication, we are talking about a weekly suspension. A source close to the airline’s management confirmed that “all pilots will be in rotation for several days a month.”
Trade unions call this decision discriminatory because it only applies to Airbus pilots. According to Oksana Vlasenko, chairman of the Interregional Union of Pilots, Boeing pilots return to fly on these aircraft or are slightly inferior to Boeing pilots.
Rossiya Airlines’ fleet includes 31 Boeings of various types and 26 Airbus aircraft, four of which, according to Flightradar24, do not fly.
Deldyuzhov, president of the Sheremetyevo Aircrew Trade Union, said that Aeroflot also proposes the number of flights purchased by Airbus aircraft. He speculated that this might be because parts are easy to find for Boeing.
After the Russian attack on Ukraine, the West imposed sanctions, including a ban on the sale of aircraft, parts and equipment. As a result, hundreds of European and American-made airliners lost their legal service. Due to the lack of spare parts, the Russian airline does not use part of its fleet, dismantling it for spare parts.
