BOURGOGNE-FRANCHE-COMTÉ: Review of the Ecological and Digital Transition Festival
From November 7 to December 8, the event counted 3,700 participants who discovered trades contributing to the fight against climate change.
The Ecological and Digital Transition Festival welcomed some 3,700 people in three territories of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, the vast majority of whom were pupils and students from the region who gave this largely dedicated edition. A success for this second edition intended to raise awareness but also to open up prospects with the discovery of professions contributing to the fight against climate change.
The collective of 26 partners is pleased with the good mobilization of the public and the actors of the territory for the success of this second season of the Festival in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. The collaborations, some of which were a first, between the education and training community, local authorities and the economic and industrial fabric have been fruitful and could give rise to new collaborations in the regions beyond the sole framework of the Festival.
An audience of young people, professionals and also a larger audience
Placed under the piloting of two Campuses of trades and qualifications (CMQ) of the low carbon pole of the Burgundy-Franche-Comté academic region, the Festival had for public more than 80% of young people, from 5th graders to Bac + students. 5. A network of young ambassadors has been formed, making it possible to enrich the next edition of the Festival and to animate events in schools throughout the year. Fun tools such as the “Climate frescoes”, “Construction frescoes”, as well as the hackathon, game space and game jam were particularly appealing.
In addition to raising awareness of the ecological and climatic situation, these meetings made it possible to present training courses and professions allowing action to be taken in the future on a professional level.
For professionals (employment and training, businesses, construction, etc.), conferences and meetings, especially with young people, have been organized throughout the territory covered by the Festival.
Finally, the general public was able to attend events such as the conference on artificial intelligence and transition (Chalon-sur-Saône), an exhibition village at the UTMB (Territoire de Belfort), or the conference of the festival on December 8 in Dijon on the reduction of the carbon impact of the building throughout its life cycle.
A program on the territory of Dijon Métropole, in Saône-et-Loire and in Nord-Franche-Comté
In Dijon, where more than 1,700 people took part in some thirty events, it is worth noting the mobilization and interest of high school students and students from higher education schools for the creation and animation of the Fresque du climate, city or building. In addition, under the impetus of the CMQ Ville verte and the Dreal Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, 11 educational establishments have mobilized to propose their desirable future in terms of the energy mix in France. Two concrete proposals for all the work were presented on December 5 in Dijon to Olivier Véran, government spokesperson and Sophie Mourlon, director of energy at the general directorate for energy and climate, as part of national consultation on the energy mix in France.
In Saône-et-Loire, visits to companies in Chalon-sur-Saône, Montceau-les-Mines and Digoin allowed young people to question their elders about their action in favor of the planet and also to express ideas under the listening attentively to manufacturers. Furthermore, under the impetus of the CMQ ITIP, the presentation of the professions necessary for the ecological transition, little known, allows in the long term to open up interesting prospects at the time of orientation.
In Nord-Franche-Comté, more than 1,200 young people, professionals and elected officials took part in 16 events in various formats: Scientific game jam, student-business meeting, visits or discovery workshops of laboratories, electric vehicles or a reference, forums, conferences… The launch of the technical platforms of the Nelson Mandela high school in Audincourt, accompanied by a conference “Committing to the energy transition, qualifications and skills” and stands, particularly illustrated the diversity of the public.
