The ranking of the “best” and “worst” passports in the world for 2022 was compiled: which place did Lithuania take?
The ranking is based on the number of countries for which the passport holder is eligible for a visa and can obtain a visa on arrival.
The leader of the rating was the United Arab Emirates (UAE) passport, the holders of which can travel without a visa to 121 states. In another 59 countries, they can get a visa on arrival. Only 18 countries require an advance visa.
Second place was shared by Germany, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Luxembourg, France, Italy, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and South Korea. Their owners must apply for a visa in advance to be eligible for 25 states.
In third place are Denmark, Belgium, Portugal, Norway, Poland, Ireland, USA and New Zealand. With the passports of these countries, compulsory visas are required in 26 states.
Lithuania took 5th place in the ranking. With a Lithuanian passport, you can visit 121 countries without a visa. Visit 49 countries, and you need 28 countries, you need to apply for a visa in advance. Estonia and Latvia took the 6th place – with the passports of these countries, you can visit 120 countries without a visa. Visa on arrival for 49 countries, and for 29 countries you need to apply for a visa in advance.
The least “powerful” is the passport of Afghan residents, which allows entry to only 5 countries without a visa.
