Regensdorf: Attic fire causes major property damage
At 4:45 p.m., residents reported heavy smoke development on the roof of a multi-storey, one-sided apartment building. When the fire brigade arrived, all the residents of the house were already outdoors. The firefighters quickly got the fire under control and were able to prevent the flames from spreading to the attached house. Ten apartments are temporarily uninhabitable. The affected residents visited either relatives or acquaintances’ shelter or circumstances from the municipality alternative accommodation.
There were no injured people. According to initial estimates, the damage to property should amount to several hundred thousand francs.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown. SHE IS INVESTIGATED BY specialists from the fire investigation service of the cantonal police in Zurich.
Because of the fire, Dällikerstrasse had to be closed to traffic in the area of the affected house. The fire brigade set up an appropriate detour.
With the Zurich cantonal police were the Regensdorf municipal police, the Regensdorf, Buchs – Dällikon, Pöschwies, Opfikon fire brigades, the drone rescue service from Zurich, the Zurich building insurance inspector, the Mayor of Regensdorf, and as a precautionary measure one ambulance each from the Limmattal and Bülach hospitals, as well as an ambulance on duty.
