The prefect strengthens measures for vulnerable people
A drop in temperatures is again forecast in the coming days by Météo-France throughout the Hauts-de-France region.
Faced with deteriorating weather conditions, Jacques BILLANT, prefect of Pas-de-Calais, has decided to renew as of today the measures implemented for vulnerable people last weekend. :
- Extension of the operating hours of the 7 day centers located in the department (1 per district).
- Intensification of patrols to encourage all people to accept accommodation.
- Mobilization of emergency accommodation places (as a reminder, the departmental park has 1,300 places) and activation, if necessary, of hotel nights by the 7 departmental branches (1 per district) of the Integrated Reception and Orientation Service ( SIAOintegrated reception and orientation service).
The specific shelter system deployed for the migrant population arriving in Calais will also be reinforced this evening.
The situation is closely monitored by the State services. The prefect recalls how important it is for anyone in distress in the public space to be reported to 115, a free emergency call service.
