It is an important drug trafficking which has just been updated in Toulouse after 8 months of investigation. 16 people were arrested. The method of this network: orders and deliveries were agreed on messaging and application like Snapchat.
Big crackdown for the Toulouse-Saint-Michel gendarmerie research brigade, which arrested 16 people involved in a major drug trafficking network in the towns of Blagnac, Montgiscard and Toulouse.
The investigation began in April 2021, following the arrest of a narcotics delivery man who worked through a sales network using the Snapchat application. Quickly, several other participants in the network were identified.
Faced with the scale of the traffic, the organized crime service of the Toulouse public prosecutor’s office opened a judicial investigation in October 2021. The traffic worked with a “classic” point of sale, but also with Snapchat accounts and a Telegram channel. The drug from Spain was regularly ordered and delivered through these apps.
The necessary searches of the homes of the respondents led to the seizure of 1.3 kg of cocaine, 2.8 kg of herbal cannabis, 5 kg of cannabis resin, 285 tablets of ecstasy and 31 g of MDMDA . In addition, the investigators seized 58,691 euros in cash, bank accounts (containing 69,490 euros) and 8 vehicles of the brands Mercedes, Harley-Davidson, Opel, Nissan, Citroën, Hyundai, as well as numerous luxury items and clothing from the fruits of traffic, for an amount exceeding €250,000
The majority of the respondents received social benefits, unemployment benefits, RSA, employment bonus, while their lifestyle did not correspond to these incomes. Some of them have already been sentenced, some very recently, for drug trafficking.
Four were placed under judicial supervision. On the other hand, the six other detainees involved were presented to a judge of freedoms and detention who ordered their temporary placement.
The investigation is now continuing under the direction of the investigating judge with a view to identifying the other authors, co-authors or accomplices of the traffic and all the beneficiaries.
