SBB: Disturbance between Lenzburg and Zurich paralyzes evening traffic
Anyone commuting between Aarau and Zurich main station tonight will need additional patience. As a news scout reports, his train, which would have actually traveled from Bern to Zurich without stopping, stopped in Aarau. There the travelers have to leave the train and change to other connections.
The SBB confirms a corresponding disruption between Lenzburg and Zurich HB on its website. Specifically, there was a signal box malfunction in Mägenwil. As this is a main line, lines TGV, ICE, IC1, IC3, IC5, IC8, IR35, IR37, RE, S11, S19, S23, S29 and S42 are affected.
According to the SBB, individual connections fail completely, others should be able to bypass the disruption. SBB advises affected travelers to use the timetable app to find out more or to seek help from the customer advisors available at larger stations. Travelers from Basel SBB to Zurich HB are advised to travel via Brugg AG.
According to the company, the disruption should last until at least 7 p.m. Between Othmarsingen and Mellingen Heitersberg, rail replacement buses have been set up in both directions.
